The “Heart of Nashville” project, funded through the Metro Nashville Public Health Department and lead by NashvilleHealth, is focused on strengthening how care is delivered across our community. By bringing together academia, health systems, community voices, and individuals, this initiative is working to create a more predictable, reliable, and consistent health journey for all. At its core, Heart of Nashville is about helping people truly flourish in their health and well-being.

A key partner in this work is Belmont University, through the Belmont Data & AI Collaborative (BDAIC) and the Thomas F. Frist Jr. College of Medicine, which plays a critical role in helping transform data into meaningful action. Belmont serves as the analytic arm of the initiative. In addition to helping collect and contextualize data, BDAIC helps uncover the story behind it — turning information into insights that leaders can use to better allocate resources and improve outcomes. By leveraging advanced analytics and AI, their work is not about replacing people in healthcare, but empowering them with clearer, more accessible information.
Equally important is ensuring that data is not only available, but also understandable and useful to the community. Through creative storytelling, visual tools, and community-centered communication, Belmont helps make insights more accessible so individuals can better understand what’s happening in their neighborhoods and advocate for themselves. By integrating the health system with real community experiences and voices, this collaborative approach creates a more connected and impactful model of care.
NashvilleHealth is proud to work alongside Belmont University and our other dedicated Heart of Nashville partners. By uniting organizations that have long been serving the community, this initiative breaks down silos and strengthens collective impact. Together, we are building a more informed, empowered, and healthier Nashville.
NashvilleHealth creates a culture of health and wellbeing by serving as a convener to open dialogue, align resources and build smart strategic partnerships to create a bold plan for health and wellbeing in Nashville.
