NashvilleHealth is excited to partner with Metro Nashville Public Schools to present Wellness Week 2022, May 9-13. Students will learn about and practice healthy lifestyles throughout the week with the help of teachers around the county and community partners. Themes and activities focused on engaging students and staff in physical activity, nutrition, and emotional well-being will be presented each day in Nashville elementary, middle, and high schools.
Monday, May 9th : Move It Monday
Move It Monday challenges students to take a 20 minute break to participate in a physical activity.
Tuesday, May 10th : Tune-in To You Tuesday
Tune-in To You Tuesday challenges students to set a timer for 5 minutes and focus on breathing or stretching to calm bodies and minds.
Wednesday, May 11th : Water Wednesday
Water Wednesday challenges students to choose water instead of sugary drinks and to drink water with every meal.
Thursday, May 12th : Think Environmentally Thursday
Think Environmentally Thursday challenges students to either pick-up one piece of litter or recycle at least one item.
Friday, May 13th : Feel Good Friday
Feel Good Friday challenges students and staff to write positive messages and post on classroom doors.
As a way of encouraging schools to participate, NashvilleHealth is offering $5,000 in prize money to the top schools to be spent on health/wellness materials.
Grand Prize (School with the most participation across the district): $2000
Top Elementary: $1,000
Top Middle: $1,000
Top High School: $1,000
