Food is Medicine

Senator Bill Frist, M.D. Represents NashvilleHealth at White House Nutrition Conference

As the founder of NashvilleHealth, Sen. Bill Frist, M.D. represented our organization at a historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. This is the first conference of its kind in more than 50 years.

Experts in the field discussed innovative nutrition and hunger solutions including ways to prevent food deserts in urban areas.

One Step Closer to a #SmokeFreeNashville

Earlier this month, Nashville’s Metro Council voted to advance a NashvilleHealth-supported smoke-free ordinance to a third and final reading. The smoke-free ordinance would protect workers in 21+ venues from dangerous exposure to secondhand smoke. Our musicians, bartenders, and other hospitality employees should not have to put their health at risk to earn a paycheck.

Write and encourage your council member to pass this important ordinance!
